Yep, that’s right, if something happens to the containment of this crude, more people’s livelihoods could be destroyed.

‘It makes no sense to store oil at the base of an erupting volcano,’ he said.”

“The administration in May 2007 gave DHS authority to coordinate requests for satellite imagery, radar, electronic-signal information, chemical detection and other monitoring capabilities that have been used for decades within U.S. borders for mapping and disaster response.”

It has the “potential to expand the role of military assets in domestic law enforcement, to turn new or as-yet-undeveloped technologies against Americans without adequate public debate, and to divert the existing civilian and scientific focus of some satellite work to security uses.”

“In short, it appears that the Administration may view NSA domestic surveillance, including the surveillance of millions of ordinary Americans detailed in EFF’s Hepting case, as a “domestic military operation.” If so, this Yoo memo would blow a loophole in the Fourth Amendment big enough to fit all of our everyday telephone calls, web searches, instant messages and emails through.”

“And of course it reinforces why granting immunity aimed at keeping the courts from ruling on the Administration’s flimsy legal arguments is wrongheaded and dangerous.”

Political lies to save face. And you want us to believe;

Giving the lemmings false hope that you might even do something about the high cost of energy when you know you and Congress aren’t going to do anything at all.

Yes, it is a joke. Another in a long line of jokes on the American public that have unfolded during this administration’s tenure of destruction of the American way of life. And you, Mr. Markey, have been a part of it by your apathy.

Congress Has Big Questions For Big Oil

So what? We’re not going to do a damn thing about it. Well sit back and listen to the same old same old again and again…

Simon, Exxon Mobil’s senior vice president. Last year the oil and gas industry earned 8.3 cents per dollar of sales, only a little higher than the Dow Jones Industrial Average for major industries, he argued in prepared testimony.”

That’s right - prepared testimony. Repeated ad infinitum by his predecessors. Its so prepared he probably just brought the same copy one of these executives read from in 1976.

Additionally - the height of arrogance and profiteering speaks in a “sympathetic” voice for the people/lemmings;

“I heard what you are hearing,” John Hofmeister, president of Shell Oil Co., told Markey, adding in prepared testimony that he knows that “Americans are worried about the rising price of energy…. These cost increases are hitting consumers hard, particularly the poor and those on fixed incomes.”

Yeah, well, hearing and doing something to fix it are certainly two distinctly different things. What’s that? Oh, you really don’t care, do you? I didn’t think so.

Yet, we take it…

BTW - Presnit Bushco promises to veto any legislation that voids the oil companies tax credit windfalls. Now, there’s a real patriot!
