The Truth and - Selling Top Quality Merchandise at the right price! Except that both have become a lost art in favor of greed.

For the last few months I’ve been discovering how far out of the “loop” I became having been away from retailing for some time. The “guest” (who made customer a bad word?) has become completely, totally trained to purchase only when the sale is good enough!

Regardless, the “associate” (who made salesperson a bad word?) has become required to maintain a sales per hour quota or risk losing either income or employment (another bad word).

The level of turnover is - what is the correct word? Repugnant! This leads to valued “associates” being asked to go above and beyond the “normal” duties of covering one department occasionally helping out elsewhere. Now they are scheduled in such a manner that they are there when short-handedness is rampant and their good nature won’t allow them to let business go poorly. One minor detail - while covering another area, if sales are made, they don’t receive full credit towards the sales per hour responsibility to maintain their income or employment.

“Checking your numbers” the following day leads to deep discouragement! You’ve been of service, been helpful and yet you’ve been “disciplined” for it! You come up short though you’re told you made the top ten for the previous day. You face a cut in your hourly wage for coming up short. You didn’t cause it. But - you made the top ten!

When was the last time you explained to a “guest” that by purchasing a $700 item of quality that would last the “guest” a lifetime thereby lowering the cost of that item considerably below the other, less expensive item requiring replacement every three years - and the “guest” understood and agreed???

Oooooh… there’s a LOT more!!!

Simplenomics (From whence the title)

Sooo - I’m looking for humor early on a Sunday morning? What’s it to ya’? :)

This quote from Tony Blake about made me spit out my coffee;

“I have lots to say… sometimes nice, sometimes not… and frankly there’s a lot of “not” coming down the pike because of all the crap and bullsh** I see and hear on a daily basis: from what’s going on in the Internet marketing world and the plethora of clowns and con-men that inhabit it, to what’s surrounding us each day in our lives — people, politics, sex, kids, work, play… hell, I could be writing non-stop 24/7 and still not finish spewing out what’s been rattling in my skull…”

Bought another one of “those” e-books lately??? lmao…

And then Mike writes about a sales manager that I “know” who no doubt yelled at his staff early one Saturday morning and berated them into believing this was the “right” way to do things - or else!

Finally, I feel like putting it down here because I’ve let this go for so long and have a need to draw attention to me today 8O

The world is f****d up folks and it needs to change!!! Screw the Blog Marketing - pray for your neighbor, be kind to your fellow man - for a friggin’ day!!! Stand up in solidarity against the evil that has pervaded our globe and mankind’s collective thinking!!! Tell Al-qaida AND Bush both to go to hell and stay there, we can do just fine without either of them!!!

And then buy my damn error page product (okay, so its not mine, its Jason’s, but I have the resell rights, I think…)

Oh. hey, btw - if your a Blog spammer, I pray that you die - today! You and your spewage laden pure garbage!!!
