I’m dead serious…
Hurricanes can lift the water off the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. And then move it onshore with violent force. Not to mention lifting it into the clouds then depositing it as rain, oily rain.
So use your imagination. Suppose a hurricane was moving through the Gulf right now. A category 3, 4, or 5. Suppose Katrina hit right now in the same place. Think about a 30 foot surge moving about 5 miles inland. Think about a surge that moves into the wetlands and has no relief - keeps backing up higher and higher - because it’s a slow moving storm.
Oh, yeah… and we ought not raise the limit of damages that big oil should pay… right Murkowski?
